Repairs, Returns & Exchanges

At Dawson Denim, quality is paramount. Each item is carefully crafted in Japan and checked by hand at our workshop in Brighton. While we take every step to ensure that every product meets our high standards, we acknowledge that, on rare occasions, things can go wrong. When they do, we’re here to help—so please get in touch with us first at sales@dawsondenim.com, and we’ll do our best to assist you.


Repairs & Hemming

  • Free Repairs & Hemming:
    We offer a free repair and hemming service for any Dawson Denim products purchased directly from dawsondenim.com.
  • Stockist Purchases:
    If you bought your item from a stockist, please contact them directly regarding repairs or alterations.
  • Shipping Costs & Liability:
    We do not cover shipping costs for repairs or hemming services. All work is carried out at your own risk, and we cannot accept responsibility for lost or damaged parcels.

Refunds & Exchanges

We understand that returns and exchanges can sometimes be confusing, so we’ll do our best to make the process as simple as possible. If you need assistance, email us at sales@dawsondenim.com.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, you can cancel your order within 14 days of delivery, as long as your Dawson Denim item is unworn, undamaged, and returned in its original packaging. You do not need to provide a reason for cancellation.

  • You have 14 days from cancellation to return your order.
  • We do not cover return postage costs.
  • We are happy to replace the item or offer a credit note.

When can’t I get a refund?

We cannot issue a refund if:

  • You were aware of a fault before purchase.
  • The item was damaged due to an attempted repair by yourself or a third party.
  • The order was custom-made or altered in any way, including hemming.
  • You no longer want the item (e.g., incorrect size or colour). However, we can discuss an exchange or credit note.
  • The item was purchased at a reduced price—in this case, we can offer a credit note or exchange under Distance Selling Regulations (minus shipping costs).

How Much Does a Repair Cost?

  • If your item is found to be faulty or damaged, we will repair it for free.
  • You will only need to cover the cost of shipping to and from us.
  • We may request proof of purchase before proceeding with repairs.

How Long Will a Refund Take?

  • Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving the returned goods, using the original payment method.
  • We will only cover return postage costs if the item is deemed faulty.
  • You will receive an email confirmation once the refund has been processed.

Custom Hemming

We offer free hemming on any Dawson Denim product, sewn on our 1957 Union Special 43200G chain-stitch hemmer.

  • Once your item has been custom hemmed, we cannot accept refunds unless the item is faulty.

How to Return Your Order

To return an item, please clearly mark your parcel as “RETURNED GOODS” and send it to:
