Always moving to the beat of her own drum she is a Feminist and Socialist and wearer of Dawson Denim which is why we are so proud to have recently interviewed her, so here we go!
DD: Why do you like Dawson Denim?
MP: It’s just very cool and very stylish.
DD: What’s your favourite piece of clothing that you own and why?
MP: It’s a khaki woollen Coat by Margaret Howell. I bought it in sale about 15 years ago. It’s a little worn now but it’s a fabulous shape and colour. People still comment on it.
DD: What’s a must-have clothing item everyone should own?
MP: A good well cut pair of jeans!
DD: Vintage or new?
MP: A little bit of both.
DD: Who’s your style icon - past and present
MP: Katherine Hepburn past...Kevin Rowland present.
DD: Current style influence
MP: Japanese work wear is where I seem to be leaning towards but then I’m loving a little bit of french Avant Garde
DD: Favourite brands
MP: Dawson D..LeMarie, Too Good, Egg and studio nicholson.
DD: Project you’re working on:
MP: Alan Bennetts Heads at The Bridge Theatre in London till October 24th alongside the magnificent Tamsin Greig.
DD: Latest hobbies or side projects during lockdown:
MP: Cycling. I’ve bitten the bullet and joined Rapha cycling club in Manchester.I love it! It’s tough but it’s so rewarding. I just wish I started a good 20 years ago!
DD: Favourite movie:
MP: Tough choosing just one...but Opening Night with the Peerless Gena Rowlands directed by John Cassavettes.
DD: What are you currently reading?
MP: I have to admit I usually do two books at a time..at the moment..I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman and Sisters by Daisy Johnson...Both are superb.
DD: What song can you listen in repeat:
MP: Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush.

MP: A cup of tea and a toasted crumpet in front of Talking Pictures TV
DD: What’s one city you’ve always dreamed of travelling to?
MP: Tokyo

MP: My city is Salford so I will say the Italian, Vero on chapel st and Urban Village Eatery in Monton for a healthy Breakfast and then jump over the border to...

MP: Fish and chips always!

MP: A grown up cider.
