In 2012, the very same year we started Dawson Denim; Andrew Livingston was searching through an old factory directory, he came across Watman’s factory (which would eventually come to be Knickerbocker Mfg. Co.). Steven Watman, the proprietor of a sixty year old family owned manufacturing company was ready to pass the torch on and so Andrew with Kyle Mosholder and Daniel Rickard Guy would found Knickerbocker. At the heart of Knickerbocker MFG co is community, Steven Watmen didn’t just hand over the keys he handed over a responsibility Andrew, Kyle and Daniel would soon learn that Knickerbocker was going to be much more than a brand it would be about maintaining a tradition.
We met Andrew in 2015 and after some mutual appreciation and swapping of clothes we wanted to work together on something as we felt our two brands shared a common interest, this machinist cap is the first in what we hope to be a succession of limited edition collaborations.
